Learning across the curriculum

Cross curriculum content enriches and supports the learning areas and adds depth to student learning. In NSW students study a range of learning across the curriculum content.

Learning for the Future

An inclusive education is taught at Wingello Public School. We recognise and support Aboriginal perspectives and multicultural practices.  Inclusive practices are taught throughout the curriculum.

Our Opportunities

At Wingello Public School our students are offered opportunities in music, sport, art and environmental programs.

Small School Sports Days allow children to compete with a broader range of students, and some of our students compete at district and state level.

Teachers from the Goulburn Regional Conservatorium provide lessons in percussion and recorder. Optional lessons are also available for violin, guitar and keyboard.

Children are also able to participate and compete in public speaking, debating, the Premier's Sporting Challenge, the Premier's Reading Challenge, the Premier's Spelling Bee, the Southern Highlands Academically Gifted Class and students are offered many other excellent opportunities.

Our children are encouraged to Live Life Well through healthy eating programs and regular activity.  Crunch ‘n' Sip is enjoyed daily and we encourage children to bring fresh, healthy food each day.  As part of this program, we also grow fruit and vegetables in our school garden, and are a member of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Schools.

Knowing what your child is learning helps you support them throughout their education.

In this section you can find out how public education works and the range of learning opportunities offered for students to challenge their thinking, and make the most of their unique talents.

You can also browse each School Year section to find out more.

Local Opportunities

Wingello students are offered the opportunity to participate in the Southern Highlands Academically Gifted Class and some of our previous students have gone on to win scholarships or a place in academically gifted programs in local high schools.
